(HBO) – Hoa Binh’s industrial production exceeded 3.61 trillion VND (153.33 million USD) in March, a year-on-year increase of 21.6 percent. The figure lifted the total value in the first quarter of this year to over 10.55 trillion VND, up 10.6 percent from the same period last year.

Ho Guom garment firm, located in Phong Phu commune, Tan Lac district, has maintained stable production, providing jobs for hundreds of local workers.

The provincial People’s Committee said the positive growth was attributable to the fact that all districts have effectively implemented local industry and handicraft industry development plan.

Manufacturing and processing remained the industrial sector’s key driver with significant growth, with increases ranging from 24 – 38 percent recorded in the production of beverage, steel and cement.

However, the People’s Committee warned that the local industry sector has relied heavily on production of Hoa Binh Hydropower plant while power blackout still occurs, affecting production-business activities and people's life./.
