(HBO) - Kim Boi district in the northern province of Hoa Binh is stepping up land clearance work for key projects which are expected to open up great opportunities to make use of the province’s potential and advantages

Workers at the construction site of the bridge – part of the regional linking road project in Kim Boi district.

The project on the regional linking road (Hoa Binh - Hanoi and Son La Expressway) has a 16.3-km long section running through six communes of Kim Boi district.

The construction of the road section affected the area of about 83 ha in the district with houses and graves to be moved.

Seeing it as a key project that can help boost the economic development of the district and the region, the Kim Boi district administration has coordinated with relevant departments, agencies, and units to speed up land clearance work, compensation, and resettlement.

Bui Van Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Vinh Dong Commune, said that the road project requires an area of about 16 ha in the commune and nearly 100 graves need to be relocated.

Party committees and authorities called on people to support the project implementation. So far, 18 households in Roh, Go Dam, and Chanh hamlets have agreed to move to make room for the road construction.

The project complex of eco-urban area, high-class entertainment, and Cuoi Ha cable car system in Kim Boi and Cuoi Ha communes is a large-scale project as it affects houses and farming land of 500 households in Kim Boi communes and another 420 households in Cuoi Ha commune, plus 490 graves need to be relocated.

Up to now, the district People's Committee has approved the detailed construction planning for a resettlement area in Kim Boi commune. Meanwhile, the People's Committee of Cuoi Ha commune was assigned to make detailed construction planning for a new rural residential area covering about 57 ha.

According to Bui Van Diep, Chairman of Kim Boi District People's Committee, the work of site clearance and resettlement of the key projects faces difficulties, including those in identifying the origin of land, and the land price of compensation. People are hesitant to move graves.

The district authorities have asked for assistance from the provincial People's Committee, departments, and branches including investment for the construction of technical infrastructure works, and specific land prices./.
