(HBO) - The Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Hoa Binh province’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People's Committees of Lac Son and Yen Thuy districts, and Fusa Organic Agriculture joint Stock Company on May 20 signed a strategic cooperation agreement on implementing a pilot project to build a material area of agricultural and forestry products that meet standards for domestic consumption and export in Hoa Binh province in the 2022 – 2025 period.


Representatives of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People's Committees of Lac Son and Yen Thuy districts and the Fusa Organic Agriculture joint Stock Company sign the cooperation agreement.


The parties agreed to work together to develop a fruit tree material area in Hoa Binh province within the scale of the pilot project. Participating in the project, the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development will coordinate with the other parties to disseminate and build a production and consumption linkage area of fruit trees in the province, develop cooperatives, support training personnel, intensify agricultural encouragement activities and high technology application, and step up digital transformation in association with production linkage chains.

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will direct units to prioritise supporting the development of cooperatives in the material area in order to develop it, and form production and consumption linkages with Fusa; and step up agricultural extension activities and application of high technology to implement the project.

The People's Committees of Lac Son and Yen Thuy districts will prioritise the local budget to support the development of cooperatives in order to develop the material area which links production and consumption with the company.

Meanwhile, Fusa is responsible for developing an annual plan and linking production with cooperatives to form a value chain of standard fruit tree material area.

According to Fusa’s material area development plan in Hoa Binh province in the 2023 - 2030 period, the company aims to develop the material area for production and export processing, gradually forming commodity production areas in accordance with VietGap and GlobalGap standards which apply scientific and technological advances, innovate equipment in research, breeding, cultivation, processing, extraction and technology transfer in order to create high quality and competitive products.

The company will focus its resources on expanding the tree area and annual crops to build specialised production areas for several crops such as white sugarcane, purple sugarcane, chili, Cao Phong orange, Tan Lac red-flesh pomelo, and passion fruit, with a total area of 500 ha, including 200 ha in Tan Lac district, 20 ha in Cao Phong district; 50 ha in Lac Son district, 100 ha in Yen Thuy district, 100 ha in Kim Boi district, and 30 ha in Luong Son district./.
