(HBO) – Hoa Binh province and the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand organised an investment, trade and tourism promotion conference on July 17, as part of the Hoa Binh delegation’s visit to the country.

The event saw the participation of Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipund, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce Sanan Angubolkul, and representatives from the Thailand-Vietnam Business Council (TVBC), organisations, groups and enterprises in Thailand.

In his remarks, Thanh stressed that Hoa Binh has become an ideal destination for foreign investors and tourists, adding the event has contributed to promoting investment and trade cooperation between the province and Bangkok as well as between the two countries.

Addressing the conference, Long said Hoa Binh is working to consolidate its institutions and infrastructure, considering this as strategic breakthroughs to improve the local investment environment, thus attracting more investors and visitors.

The official briefed the participants on the province’s potential and strengths, and noted his hope that more Thai investors will come to the locality in the time ahead.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Toan spoke of FDI projects in Hoa Binh and incentives to them, saying to support businesses, the locality has established an investment, trade and tourism promotion centre.

Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce Sanan Angubolkul highlighted the significance of the event, and expressed his belief that the two countries will step up cooperation in all spheres.

Many participating Thai enterprises shared the view that ample room remains for trade cooperation between the two sides, especially in high-tech agriculture, tourism and agricultural product preservation.

Earlier, the Hoa Binh delegation had a working session with the TVBC and Gulf Group, a leading energy producer in Thailand.

On this occasion, the Hoa Binh People’s Committee signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the TVBC with the aim of promoting economic and trade ties between Thailand and Vietnam and the province in particular.
