In 2023, the province’s husbandry industry has recorded stable development, with its production value hitting an estimated 4.1 trillion VND (nearly 168.6 million USD), up 6.1% year-on-year. The locality has 114,200 buffaloes, 89,140 cows, 495,000 pigs, 51,300 goats, and a poultry herd of 8.61 million.

The province is home to 71 poultry-raising establishments, which produce about 7 million commercial poultry heads, 27 million breeding chickens and 37 million eggs.

The department of animal husbandry and health has issued documents directing localities to strengthen vaccination for cattle and poultry, with a total of over 1.5 million doses of vaccines administered to livestock herds.

Participants discussed and proposed measures to remove difficulties facing the local livestock industry towards promoting effective and sustainable development.

According to the direction of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in 2024, the provincial The Department of Animal Husbandry and Health will continue to effectively restructure the livestock sector to meet the market demand.

The locality will focus on expanding livestock models applying the VietnameseGood Agricultural Practices(VietGAP); ensuring disease safety, biosecurity, and environmental friendliness; and developing key livestock products in thedirectionoflarge-scale concentratedproduction, and value chains.
