A delegation of the northern province of Hoa Binh led by Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Duc Hinh, has embarked on a promotion programme in the Netherlands and Germany. Leaders of Dak Nong, Quang Binh, Phu Yen and Ninh Thuan provinces also joined the delegation, along with leaders of some departments and agencies.

The trip, which began on June 16, aims to popularise the potential, strength and investment environment of Hoa Binh province to Dutch and German investors and businesses.

At a working session with the authority of Westland, a city in the western Netherlands on June 17, the two sides exchanged the potential and strength of each locality.

Westland Mayor Bouke Arends said that as an agriculture hub of the Netherlands and famous for its vegetables and fruits, local administration hopes to contribute to the development of Vietnam's agriculture.

He went on to say that they look forward to cooperating with the province after the trip, noting that Vietnam boasts an abundant and highly-skilled workforce.

The Hoa Binh delegation wished Westland city transfer agricultural technology to Vietnam. They also expected the mayor and Dutch investors will visit Vietnamese provinces to explore investment cooperation.

During the working session, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the time to come.

The same day, leaders of the Vietnamese Embassy, Westland city administration and representatives of the provinces attended a seminar, which introduce the potential and investment attraction policies of their localities, with the participation of representatives 100 businesses of the host country.

Addressing the event, Ngo Huong Nam, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands spotlighted the long-standing relations between the two countries,

Exchange and cooperation between localities have developed strongly, becoming a highlight in the friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries.

He said he hopes the seminar will open up many new cooperation opportunities, contribute to realise development goals, and contribute to strengthening and deepening the cooperative relationship between Vietnamese localities and Dutch investors and businesses.

Hinh highlighted the locality’s potential and advantages, saying that in addition to majestic natural landscapes and friendly people, Hoa Binh boasts a unique cultural identity. In recent years, the Party Committee, authorities and people of Hoa Binh province have striven to boost socio-economic development and improve people's lives.

The province wants to seek cooperation in fields of industry, agriculture, trade and services, he said, adding that local administration pledge to support and accompany businesses and investors for mutual development.

Within the framework of the event, representatives of the government, organisations, investors and businesses in the Netherlands expressed their interest in the Vietnamese market, especially in the field of high-tech agriculture. The delegates introduced technologies in the agriculture’s production value chain and expressed their hope for long-term and sustainable cooperation for economic development and mutual benefits.
