(HBO) – In 2017, the number of traffic accidents in the province was reduced in all three criteria in comparison with 2016. In the whole province, there were only 102 traffic accidents, which caused 78 died people, 79 injured people. Compared to 2016, the number of accidents reduced by 11 accidents, 14 died people and 4 injured people. 3 units reducing the number of traffic accidents in all three criteria are Luong Son, Mai Chau and Hoa Binh city.

In recent years, together with the development of economy, living condition and the income for local people in Luong Son District has been improved clearly. There have been more means of transport to participate in producing, trading and serving merchandises. The Chairman of the People’s Committee in Nguyen Vu Chi District said: Luong Son District has 2 large roads running through Ho Chi Minh and National Road 6. In the whole district, there are 54 km of inter-district and more than 500 km of communes and as a border district with Hanoi. Therefore, ensuring the traffic safety as well as maintaining the transport infrastructure seems to be a hard job for the local authority.

Luong Son District has focused on exploiting more solutions to ensure the traffic safety in order to reduce the traffic accidents. In which, they have collaborated to invest in traffic light systems at the intersection of km38+800 on the National Road 6.

Due to the fact that many students and workers in industrial zones control their means of transport without driving licenses, disobey the regulations of traffic safety while in traffic, the district strengthens propaganda and dissemination about the laws of Traffic safety in comply with police force and organizations in communes, towns, schools and Luong Son Industrial Zone. In 2017, the district organized legal propaganda of Road Traffic Regulations, propagandizing about wearing helmets, being fined because of disobeying the regulations of traffic, etc. for 5,000 participants. Besides, the district collaborated with the administration boards of industrial zones, the business owners and the driver training center of Fire Fighting University to open the training courses for motorbike licenses for workers in the industrial zones. At the same time, it is necessary to implement seriously the plans to restructure the traffic safety corridor, handle the violations of using the roads, pavements illegally for trading, drying, burning straw on the roads, and strengthen the patrol and punishment of people against traffic rules. In the district, there has been no motorbike racing on the special occasions and Tet holiday. In addition, the district strengthens the works of checking, controlling and handling the violations of traffic safety.

In 2017, the functional forces of the district organized 383 petrol turns, found out nearly 700 illegal cases, seized 102 motorbikes; collaborated with the Department of Traffic Police to check the net weight of the vehicles, check the alcohol concentration of the drivers in the area, then found 19 illegal cases of net weight, fined about 39 million dongs, handled 10/16 violations of alcohol concentration, 90 cases of over speeding, etc. In the year, the district handled 720 illegal cases of administration with the total sum of 602 million dongs. The district directed the functional forces to organize the traffic flow there were traffic accidents, consequence overcoming, avoiding the traffic congestions. The district solved the conditions of market gathering on the town roads of National Road 6.

According to 2017, in the area of Luong Son District, the number of traffic accidents decreased in the three criteria with 14 accidents, reducing 2 cases; 11 died people, reducing 1 died people; 4 injured people, reducing 3 people in comparison with the same time last year.
