(HBO) – After 10 years of becoming an urban area grade 3, Hoa Binh city has step by step affirmed its role and position of a central urban area, paving the way for making Hoa Binh province a key economic area of Hanoi capital, and developing Hoa Binh city into an urban area grade 2, a modern city imbued with local culture identity by 2020.

Hoa Binh Square area is built to match its position
In 2016 to 2017, total social investment in the
province reached 5.23 trillion VND. The figure hit 7 trillion VND by June 30,
2018. Many projects were completed and put into use, contributing to giving a
facelift to the city, including Hoa Binh Square, sidewalks system, and upgraded
roads.
The city is striving to speed up the
implementation of programmes and projects under the Northern Mountainous Urban
Programme; a water drainage and wastewater treatment projects using ODA; and an
administrative-political centre of the city, and the Hoa Binh 3 bridge with
total investment of 434 billion VND.
Recently, the city has introduced adjustments to a detailed construction
planning of the Hoa Binh Youth Park at a scale of 1/500. The project covers an
area of 8.23 hectares. The amusement park with has green space, water surface combined
with activities of entertainment, learning, relaxation. The Hoa Binh Youth Park
has been approved in the form of public-private partnership with estimated
investment of about 214 billion VND. It is expected to finish and become operational
in the third quarter of 2020.
In addition, the city has implemented a project
to install energy saving LEDs in the form of build-lease-transfer (BLT)
contract with a total investment of 36.185 billion VND to equip the normal
electric lighting infrastructure with LED lighting technology, contributing to improving
the beauty of the city. At the same time, the city has also implemented the
project of Vincom Shophouse Hoa Binh, a trade centre project invested by
Vingroup.
Along with building infrastructure, emulation
activities and movements to build a bright - green - clean - beautiful city have
been implemented effectively. Locals have actively responded to activities such
as Green Day, self-governing road, civilized streets, garbage-free residential
areas, and Green Sunday.
Currently, 100 percent of wards and communes have
joined Green Saturday, while nearly 100 streets managed by the youth and women
have been formed, and 100 percent of local schools have engaged in the Cultural
School Gate campaign. The city has continued to expand the model of "civilized
streets, garbage-free residential areas". The percentage of people
provided with waste collection and treatment service is 95 percent and the
percentage of treated medical wastes is 100 percent./.
The Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province held a conference on March 18 to review the performance of the "Safe and Happy School" Project and set out tasks for 2025. The project, funded by the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF), aims to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students. The event saw the attendance of representatives from the TFCF and 26 beneficiary schools.
With over 70% of their workers being women, trade unions across industrial parks (IPs) in Hoa Binh have been actively safeguarding their legal rights and interests while implementing initiatives to improve their income and well-being.
