(HBO) - As the 2021 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday draws near, Hoa Binh’s mountainous district of Da Bac has carried out activities to help poor people enjoy Tet, ensuring social welfare in the locality.

The Da Bac
People’s Committee recently approved a list of beneficiary families and rice
assistance for the upcoming Tet.
Accordingly,
poor families in seven communes of Cao Son, Doan Ket, Tan Minh, Nanh Nghe, Tan
Pheo and Tien Phong are eligible for the aid. The Da Bac People’s Committee
ordered that handover of the assistance will be completed 10 days prior to Tet.
The
communes are home to 360 households in total and 1,324 needy residents. Some
19.86 tonnes of rice will be distributed, with each person receiving 15 kg.
Previously,
activities to support the poor ahead of Tet holiday were launched in the
district. Sourced from the province’s assistance, 100 gift sets worth 650,000
VND (30 USD) each were handed over to disadvantaged families in Toan Son
commune.
The
province also offered aid relief to 160 poor, near-poor families and those in
extremely difficult circumstances in the district.
Tet gifts
were given to residents of Cao Son, Tan Pheo, Hien Luong, Nanh Nghe, Dong Chum,
Giap Dat and Muong Chieng communes via the district’s Fatherland Front chapter.
In
addition, from the district’s "Fund for the Poor”, Tet gifts were sent to 171
impoverished families in the communes of Trung Thanh, Dong Ruong, Tan Minh,
Doan Ket, Yen Hoa, Tien Phong, Vay Nua and Tu Ly, along with Da Bac town.
Organisations
including the trade union offered 30 gift packages to poor workers and public
servants, while the veteran association and the Red Cross Society chapter launched
fundraising campaigns to support the disadvantaged to enjoy Tet.
Some other
organisations and individuals also joined the drive, as Thien Tam Fund and
VinGroup conglomerate presented 150 gift packages worth 600,000 VND each to
poor families in Tan Pheo.
