The northern province of Hoa Binh strives to send 1,000 workers abroad under contracts as part of its effort to realise the target on job generation and sustainable poverty reduction.

The February 3 Hoa Binh Import-Export joint Stock Company organises a ceremony for workers in Da Bac district to work in Taiwan (China) and Japan.
Since the beginning of this year, the February 3 Hoa Binh Import-Export joint
Stock Company has sent nearly 80 workers to work in the markets of Taiwan
(China) and Japan.
Xa Thi Van, a representative of the company, said that thanks to proper access
to information, workers who want to work overseas feel secure when seeking
support from the company.
Nguyen Van Thin, head of the Bureau of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of
Luong Son district, said that the programme of sending workers to work abroad
under contracts has brought high economic and social efficiency.
In the district, some enterprises have been licensed to send labourers to work
abroad under contracts. They actively introduced information and consultancy,
and jobs to locals in communes.
He said the district also promotes communication activities to help local
people understand the benefits and importance of job creation and working
abroad in sustainable poverty reduction.
In the first nine months of this year, the district had 114 people go to work
overseas, exceeding the target set for 2024.
By the end of September, the whole province had sent 660 workers abroad, mainly
Japan, Taiwan (China), the Republic of Korea, and Hungary.
Localities seeing the largest number of guest workers are Luong Son, Da Bac,
and Lac Son district and Hoa Binh City.
The province successfully coordinated with agencies and companies to
organise job fairs that attracted up to 1,000 workers. Local authorities also
coordinated to announce and select workers to work in the RoK under the
Employment Permit System (EPS) programme; organised the selection of female interns
for technical internships in Japan; announced the recruitment of candidates to
study and work in the nursing industry. In addition, the province received and
supported 29 enterprises that recruit workers to work abroad under contracts.
Bui Manh Cuong, Deputy Director of the province’s Department of Labour,
Invalids and Social Affairs said that workers working abroad under contracts
have good benefits and high incomes.
In the coming time, localities will continue to promote communications on job
creation, working abroad, and policies to support those who wish to work
abroad.
Currently, the province continues to implement the Government's decrees and
ministries’ circulars on supports for workers who work abroad under contracts.
In addition, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No.
216/2022/NQ-HDND, dated December 9, 2022, stipulating the province’s policy
that help the workers access loans in the 2023-2026 period. In addition, after
returning home, workers are also supported top get suitable jobs.
The Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province held a conference on March 18 to review the performance of the "Safe and Happy School" Project and set out tasks for 2025. The project, funded by the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF), aims to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students. The event saw the attendance of representatives from the TFCF and 26 beneficiary schools.
