In the 2020–2025 tenure, Mai Chau district’s Party organisation has achieved 18 out of 20 targets set in its resolution on socio-economic and cultural development, and Party-building, with many of which exceeded expectations. The standing board of the district Party Committee has implemented practical and creative solutions to translate the resolution into reality.

jobs and income for local workers.
Mai Chau’s Party organisation comprises 59 grassroots-level
party organisations and 213 Party cells under the grassroots Party committees
with more than 5,000 party members. From the beginning of the tenure, the
standing board of the district Party Committee has issued several resolutions
and directives to concretise Party guidelines and adapt them to local
conditions.
In 2024, the district’s Party organisation
admitted 173 new Party members, reaching 113.82% of its target. In the first
quarter of 2025 alone, 55 new members were admitted. The district has also
focused on guiding public opinion, countering distorted viewpoints, and
protecting the Party’s ideological foundation. Additionally, political theory
and professional training courses are held quarterly for over 100 officials and
Party members.
Mai Chau district’s total production value
reached 5,18 trillion VND in 2024, fulfilling 100.04% of the target set by the
resolution, and marking a 17.97% increase compared to 2023. The
ago-forestry-aquaculture sector accounts for 27.99% of the economy; industry
and construction make up 35.01%; while trade, services, and tourism contribute
37%. Per capita income exceeded the set target, reaching over 57.8 million VND
(nearly 2,212 USD). The district's poverty rate dropped to 13.36%. Hygienic
drinking water is accessible to 98.8% of households, while 100% have access to
the national power grid.
Mai Chau has completed several key
infrastructure projects, including rural roads, anti-erosion embankments, and
irrigation systems for agricultural production. The urbanisation rate is
estimated at 30.57%. Urban master plans have been adjusted to align with the
district’s sustainable development orientation.
In the first quarter of 2025, the local economy
continued recording steady growth, with total production value estimated at 4.8
trillion VND, equivalent to 52.3% of the annual target and surging by 123.65%
year-on-year. Significant improvements were seen across industry, construction,
trade, services, and tourism.
In addition, many models of crop and livestock
restructuring have proven effective in helping residents increase their
incomes. The district has 2,297 ha of paddy field, 4,942 ha of maize, 502 ha of
cassava, 184 ha of sweet potatoes, and over 780 ha of vegetables. Cooperative
economic models have been supported and expanded, creating stable jobs and
income for locals. the district's livestock population includes 17,490
buffaloes and cows, nearly 22,000 pigs, 4,550 goats, over 304,000 poultry, and
680 fish cages.
The national target programme on new-style rural
development has been actively implemented, with all 15 communes maintaining
their standard status, including two communes recognised as advanced new-style
rural areas.
Attention has been paid to promoting tourism
development, resulting in a nearly 18% rise in the number of visitors to the
locality and a 38% increase in revenue, compared to 2023, contributing to
promoting economic restructuring towards sustainability. Many
community-based tourism villages have seen infrastructure improvements and
efforts to preserve cultural identity, meeting the growing demand for
experiential travel.
Ha Cong Nghi, permanent Vice Secretary of the
Mai Chau district Party Committee said the locality has been promoting
administrative reform, thus creating favourable conditions for enterprises to
invest in production and business. He added that Mai Chau is striving to
achieve an urbanisation rate of 32% in 2025.
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always expressed his deep affection and special concern for children and youth. He once emphasized: "Caring for and educating children well is the responsibility of the entire Party and the entire people”; "First of all, the family (i.e. grandparents, parents, siblings) must do this job well”. "the Party Committees…, the Children’s Committee, the Youth Union, the education sector, and all related organizations must have specific plans to ensure children grow healthier and more progressive”. His teachings has been remaining valuable and serving as the guiding principles in the work of protecting, caring for, and educating children. In line with this ideology, Hoa Binh Province has continuously been prioritizing and investing resources in the well-being of children in recent years.
Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, the alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to provide opinions on several investment projects within the province. There was the attendance of Ms. Bui Thi Minh, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Bui Đuc Hinh, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and other members of the Standing Committee; the leaders from other departments, agencies, and some localities.
The Standing Board of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Hoa Binh province held a meeting on May 28 to honour outstanding village elders, village heads, and reputable individuals from local ethnic minority and religious communities.
In mid-May, the provincial Museum organised an exhibition named "Duoi la co Dang Cong san Viet Nam quang vinh” (Under the flag of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam). This meaningful activity took place in the joyful atmosphere to celebrate the country's major holidays and the Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
A delegation from Hoa Binh province led by Colonel Trinh Duc Thiem, Commander of the provincial Military Command, completed a mission to visit and encourage officers and soldiers stationed on Truong Sa and a DK1 platform from May 20 to 26 as part of activities of the Vietnam People’s Navy. The delegation included 12 senior officials from various provincial agencies and units.
Storytelling and painting contests honouring President Ho Chi Minh have been held at the Hoa Binh provincial Youth Activity Centre.
