(HBO) - Da Bac district is 15 km away from Hoa Binh city with abundant natural tourist resources such as: Phu Canh Nature Reserve Area, Ta Khop Waterfall, Than Cave, Lao Stream, Mua Cave, Sung Cave, Bieu Mountain, Lo Lan Cave, Hien Luong Bay, etc. Da Bac has hamlets of Ke, Da Bia, Sung, Mo Hem, Nhap, Ranh, etc. preserving unique cultural identities of ethnic minorities of Muong, Dao, Tay, etc. Those are the favorable conditions for tourism development, especially the development of community-based tourism.
Da Bac district community tourism has been
formed and developed in the last 4 years. It was started with the help of AFAP
Vietnam Organization (from July 2014). This project is in the part of AFAP's
long-term poverty reduction program in Hoa Binh. It was supported with the
finance as well as technical consultations in the process of project
implementation such as housing improvement consultancy, organizing training
courses to improve tourism profession for some households implementing
community tourism in Ke village, Hien Luong commune; Da Bia village, Tien Phong
commune and Son village, Cao Son commune. The project then was consulted to set
up Da Bac Tourist Community joint Stock Company with the objective of helping
to transform and improve the quality of community tourism services in Da Bac to
develop professionally and more effectively, focusing on promoting, connecting
with the customer market; branding tourism service products of Da Bac people
and developing community tourism in a sustainable way, etc.

In addition, The State allocated for Da Bac
district community tourism a part of the investment in infrastructure,
promotion, tourism training and support and the provision of some tourist
equipment for homestay business people at some community tourism attractions.
Up to now, the district has 9 homestays doing business to welcome tourists. In
the first 6 months of 2018, Da Bac district community tourism has welcomed over
2,000 international visitors.
Alongside the diverse cultural identities of the Kinh, Muong, Tay, Thai, Dao, and Mong ethnic people, Hoa Binh province is also renowned as the "capital" of the northwestern Vietnamese cuisine, offering unique and distinctive dishes. At festivals, during Lunar New Year (Tet), or on significant family or community occasions, special dishes are prepared, leaving a lasting impression on visitors.
A Phong Linh (Yellow Tabebuia) flower garden in Thang village, Thach Yen commune, Cao Phong district is currently in full bloom, drawing a large number of visitors.
Community-based tourism has been thriving in Pa Co commune, Mai Chau district thanks to advantages in natural landscape and cultural identity.
Doan Ket commune of Yen Thuy district has recently held a ceremony to receive a certificate recognising Ta communal house as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic site.
In Lac Thuy district, the fertile alluvial land along the Boi River is now home to lush green mulberry gardens, marking the emergence of a new agricultural industry - mulberry cultivation and silkworm farming.
Officially opening in February, Ngoi Hoa Ecotourism Site (PriorBay Resort) in Suoi Hoa commune, Tan Lac district, has quickly become a sought-after destination. It offers visitors a chance to indulge in distinctive and enticing experiences.
