(HBO) – Thanks to the sound direction of the local Party Committee and administration in the implementation of a resolution of the commune Party Organisation's Congress for the 2020-2025 period, Van Mai commune of Mai Chau district has achieved positive results in socio-economic development, thus bringing changes to the locality's appearance.

The Women's Union of Van Mai commune presents gifts to Pham Hoai An, who resides in Thanh Mai hamlet.

According to Kha Thi Dun, Secretary of the Nghe Party Cell which has 54 members in Van Mai commune, to realise the target of income per capital of 38 million VND (1,600 USD) by 2025, it held a meeting and assigned tasks to each party members and speed up the communication about restructuring plants and cattle among groups of households.

In 2019, Nghe village began converting a part of the inefficient rice cultivation area to grow crops and watermelons, she said, noting that the area has expanded to over 10 hectares by the spring-summer crop this year.

Dun said that with revenue, which is two times higher than rice cultivation, Nghe and other villages in the commune will fulfill the income target set out by the Congress's Resolution by the end of 2025.
like Nghe village, other party cells under Van Mai commune’s Party Committee have specific plans to implement the targets of the Resolution of the 18th Congress of the commune Party Organisation. Taking advantage of 6.2 hectares of water surface, the party cells encouraged households to raise fish. They collaborated with local administration in organising training classes, field trips to outstanding fish farming models and offering loans to households.

Up to now, 80% of households in the Nghe, Long and Cum villages have participated in the production model for stable income. The loan capital has been used for the right purposes and effectively, particularly bad debt does not exist in the locality.

Ha Thi Vien, Secretary of the Party Committee of Van Mai Commune said the congress’s resolution with 22 basic targets has been approved for the 2020-2025 term. Of these, the total annual production value increased by 10% while the rate of poor households decreased by 1% per year. The budget revenue will meet the assigned estimate. After a half term, the commune has completed 13/22 targets and 60% of the remaining targets. It is expected that all the targets will be fulfilled by the end of 2025.
According to Viet, at a mid-term meeting of the 18th-tenure Party Commitee, delegates pointed out the causes of the limitations that exist in the locality and suggested ways to overcome and improve efficiency in the coming time. For example, it is essential for the communal Party Committee to continue directing people to focus on economic development and restructuring plants and cattle. Residents should be encouraged to raise fish and cows. Favourable conditions should be created for business establishments in the locality.

With specific and effective solutions, the solidarity and high determination of cadres, party members and the people as well as efforts of affiliated chapters in the implementation, they believe that the resolution of the commune Party Congress for the 2020 – 2025 term will create breakthroughs for the locality./.
