(HBO) - The Hoa Binh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism opened a new display hall, themed "Typical cultural heritages of the Muong ethnic minority group in Hoa Binh" at the provincial museum to mark the Vietnam Heritage Day (November 23). The opening ceremony on November 23 was attended by Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, leaders of provincial departments and agencies, as well as more than 100 teachers and students of the Ly Tu Trong Junior High School.
Tourism and heritages are always seen in a two-way relationship: heritages provide invaluable resources for tourism development, while tourism facilitates the promotion of heritage values and vice versa. However, the rapid tourism development over the recent times has consequently put considerable pressure on heritages, particularly in places where the tourism industry is overheating.
An appeal for help from heritages
More than 1,000 artisans from five Central Highlands provinces will perform at the 2018 Gong Cultural Festival scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 2 in Gia Lai province.
Additional 14 people in the northern province of Phu Tho have been presented with the "Xoan singing artisan” title in recognition of their contributions to preserving and promoting the value of the UNESCO-recognised intangible cultural heritage.
