Mountain running is a sport that offers numerous health benefits and is increasingly attracting participants, especially among the youth. In recent years, the running community in Da Bac district has been growing significantly.
Winners at the 32nd Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup 2024.
The district organizes an annual mountain running competition. This year, the event was integrated into the launch of the "All people exercise following Uncle Ho’s example” campaign and the Olympic Run Day for Public Health.
The 32nd Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup 2024 attracted 70 athletes from 12 teams, competing in four categories: men's 7 km, women's 5km, young men's 5 km, and women's 3 km. This year's competition showcased many impressive performances, not only amateur runners but also promising young talents.
The Da Bac team consisted of 13 athletes, competing in all event categories. Athletes received specialized training in terms of techniques, strategies, and mental resilience.
Bui Tien Anh, a coach at the Da Bac Cultural, Sports, and Communication Centre, emphasized athletes practiced rigorously to improve their endurance and personal performance ahead of the 32nd Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup. The district provides comprehensive support for the runners. They strictly followed nutritional guidelines, and training regimens.
At the 32nd Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup in 2024, the Da Bac team secured the second position. Meanwhile, in 2020, the district secured the first place overall, and in 2022, 2023, and 2024, it achieved the second place.
Maintaining and developing the running movement is one of the initiatives aimed at encouraging residents to engage in physical fitness and improve their health to better contribute to the socio-economic development of Da Bac. This effort also aligns with the broader campaign to promote physical fitness under the teachings of Uncle Ho.
At the Hoa Binh provincial sports arena, the Organizing Committee of the 8th Hoa Binh City Sports Festival 2025 held youth and championship crossbow shooting, tug of war, and stick pushing tournaments.
Enforcement Departments of 7 Provinces in the Northeastern and Mountainous Regions
On February 19th, at the Hoa Binh Province Sports Hall, the Cluster of Judicial Departments and Civil Judgment Enforcement Departments of 7 provinces in the Northeastern and Mountainous regions, including Hoa Binh, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Yen Bai, Bac Giang and Phu Tho organized a friendly sports competition. A total of 52 athletes from the provinces in the cluster participated in the competition.
