A vibrant practice session of the learners at Candy class of Candy Crew dancing group (Hoa Binh City).

Being established in 2004, Candy Crew is a hip-hop dancing group leading the practice movement, bringing this artistic sport closer to the young people in Hoa Binh City. Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoa, Head of Candy Crew says: "Initially, the group was founded with only 5 members. Through the process of formation and development, Candy Crew now has over 20 members of many ages. The art form has brought the members who share the same passion, emotions, and love for hip-hop closer together. Each member is enthusiastic in pursuing their passion. Youthful, talented, creative, individualistic... all have created impressive features and differences in the group's style.”

Hip-hop dancing requires creativity, ingenuity, and a harmonious combination of graceful and emotional movements to attract viewers. During the practice process, the members have choreographed new, attractive movements with their own style and personality. Not only practicing and performing, Candy Crew dancers also enthusiastically participate in many large and small-scale competitions and tournaments to exchange, learn, compete and mature. Thereby, they have achieved many outstanding achievements. Typically, the first prize of the Peace Dance 2024 tournament; the second prize of the Hanoi AllStyle 2024 tournament in Hanoi; the second prize of the Peace City 3 tournament in 2024... At the same time, the group organizes a number of tournaments to create a professional and healthy playground for the young people who are passionate about hip-hop to affirm their talents, exchange, connect and develop the hip-hop community in the province to constantly grow. Among them, it is impossible not to mention the largest professional Peace City 3 hip-hop tournament in Hoa Binh, attracting more than 100 contestants from many provinces and cities across the country. Through 3 successful seasons and leaving good impressions, it has gradually affirmed its appeal and spread artistic values.

To spread the passion for modern dancing among young people, the group has opened 2 training facilities specializing in hip-hop and modern dancing with 30 students aged 4 - 18. This is both a fun and healthy playground, improving health, physical fitness, and life skills, and helping students gain knowledge and solid expertise to practice, compete, and perform. In addition to popular dances, the teachers also create many more movements suitable for students and then choreograph them into performances. In addition, to gradually meet the training needs of students, Candy class focuses on investing in facilities, locations, and training equipment.

Attending a practice session of the young dancers at Candy class, you can feel the burning passion nurtured in the soul of each student. The young dancers, although only elementary and middle school students, have immature dancing steps and movements, however, they are very confident, creating an attractive aura. Having been with Candy class for 3 years now, Nguyen Ngoc Diep (Tan Hoa ward, Hoa Binh City) confides: "Since joining Candy class to learn modern dancing, I have been confident in pursuing my passion, learning many useful things in life. Not only that, I find myself more agile, flexible, and healthy. After stressful hours of studying at school, I always eagerly look forward to going to class to practice, immersing myself in vibrant music with my friends”.

Thanks to their efforts and serious practice, the level and skills of the young students have become more and more perfect. In many exchange programs, art performances to celebrate major holidays, competitions, festivals... the unique and attractive modern dance performances from Candy class students have stirred up the atmosphere to be more exciting and fun, receiving enthusiastic cheers from the audience. Ms. Luu Ngoc Hoang Han, the direct instructor, shares: "In the first days of learning modern dancing, most of the children were quite hesitant and they were not confident. Through the passionate practice sessions, up to now, the children have all changed positively, disciplined, bold, active, sociable, and united. To have confident dancing steps and shining moments on the stage, they must go through a process of persistent practice and effort every day. No longer are they the shy, awkward little girls and boys of the first class, now they are like young dancers shining on stage, full of energy, vitality, burning with passion…”.

The flourishing birth and active activities of many modern dancing groups in the province have contributed to enriching and diversifying the mass sports movement at the grassroots level; training physical strength, improving cultural and spiritual life, nurturing passion, and affirming the talents of Hoa Binh youth.
