(HBO) – Up to now, the province has 10 mini- pools in the form of socialization, in which, there were 5 pools in Hoa Binh City, 1 pool in Luong Son, 1 pool in Yen Thuy, 2 pools in Lac Thuy and 1 pool in Tan Lac.

 

Due to the seriousness of child drowning cases, in recent years, drowning prevention has been identified as one of the important tasks of physical education. Therefore, in preparation for the school year of 2017 - 2018, in the summer of 2017, the Department of Education and Training held 4 classes of swimming safety training, prevention of drowning accidents for 100% physical education teachers in the province. In order to ensure the safety swimming and prevention of drowning, the Department of Education and Training requires the organizations and schools to immediately implement training contents on safe swimming, prevention of drowning for students. Each school spends at least 1 session for teachers to train, provide the contents, skills of safe swimming, prevention and protection from drowning accidents for the whole school’s pupils. Many schools have organized the propaganda regularly after the flag saluting period or extra-curricular topic –based activities.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Luong, the vice Director of the Department of Education and Training affirmed: The view of the Department of Education and Training is that the heads of all the organizations and schools have to be fully responsible for the occurrence of accidents, especially any drowning case of students in the scope, responsibility and authority of their management. In order to improve the work of physical education and sports at schools, the Department has organized training courses to improve the professional skills of teachers, lecturers, managers of physical education and school sports. It maintains and develops various types of sports clubs in schools. It also supports pupils, teachers, staff to participate in training and competing in the local and national sports competitions. The organizations and schools continue implementing the morning exercise lesson, mid-hour exercises, traditional martial arts and vocal chant after doing exercises together. In addition, the Department of Education and Training actively supervised the provincial People’s Committee to increase the expenditure investment, construction, addition, upgrade of the facilities, then ensuring the sports and physical training well like pools, multi- tasking houses, facilities, etc. by building and doing the Project "Strengthening facilities, equipment and tools for physical education and school sports in the province in the period of 2016-2020, with the orientation to the year of 2025 ".

Based on the actual conditions and the provincial competitions, the Department has guided schools and the Board of Education and Training to organize and collaborate sports competitions, such as: The tennis tournament for teachers, Marathon Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup, Pupil Badminton Competition, Pupil Athletics Competition, High School Pupil Basketball Competition, and Pupil Swimming Competition, etc. According to the provincial competition, the excellent athletes have been selected to participate in the National Sports Competition of Education Industry and achieved many notable results, such as:3 medals in The National Tennis Tournament for teachers, getting the third prize for team of the National Pupil Swimming Competition in 2017 with 18 medals; the secondary school basketball team of boys achieved the third prize of National Competition in 2017, etc. At present, the localities are focusing on organizing the football championship for primary and secondary schools in 2017. Therefore, they can select athletes to set up a team for training and preparing for Phu Dong Youth Festival of Football Championship for primary and secondary school pupils, which will take place in Yen Thuy District from 31 January to 4 February.
