(HBO) – In recent years, besides the role of social and economic developments, these sports and physical gymnastics activities have always been paid attention by Doan Ket commune (Yen Thuy district). The movement "All people exercise as the example of Uncle Ho” was promoted, and attracted a large number of people joining in. By diversifying the contents and forms of training, and maintaining the organization of many competitive activities, the sports and physical gymnastics movement in commune takes place regularly, which contributes to improve health, solidarity for government officers and people.

Mr. Bui Van Cong, a civil servant of Doan Ket
commune, said: "In order to promote the sports and physical gymnastics
movement, the commune has built up a specific plan which is appropriate to
local features. Every year, the commune organizes the competitions of volleyball,
football and other ethnic sports which attract a large number of people
participating. Moreover, some associations of commune organize sports
tournaments and sports competitions to exchange among groups of hamlets on the
occasion of festivals, Tet holiday or anniversaries. According to the sports
movements, the commune has explored and selected the athlete who has excellent
performance in the team to participate in many competitions and attain high
achievements in the sports tournaments of district.
Currently, all hamlets have men-women
volleyball and balloon teams, and two hamlets of Cua Luy and Phu Hue have men
football team. Furthermore, the sports movements in some hamlets of Dong Bai,
Phu Ve and Lien Ket developed more strongly, particularly in volleyball, each
hamlet consists of four to six men-women volleyball teams.
In order to encourage and create exciting
atmosphere for the the sports and physical gymnastics activities, the commune
organized Sports and Physical Gymnastics Congress in 2017 which attracted a
large number of athletes from many hamlets, created spirit and motivation for
the development of sports and physical gymnastics movements. Through this
congress, the commune has selected some outstanding and excellent athletes to
participate in The 7th Yen Thuy district Sports and Physical
Gymnastics Congress in 2017. With the sports movements developing strongly and
ranking in the top of district, Doan Ket is the commune providing the most of
excellent athletes for volleyball team of district and province, for example of
Mr., Bui Van Quy (Dong Bai hamlet) and Mr. Bui Van Nguyen (Dong Lac hamlet).
Especially, the commune has two athletes as Ms. Bui Thi Xuan and Ms. Bui Thi
Trang (Phu Ve hamlet) selected into national team of javelin.
In recent years, Lac Thuy district has paid increasing attention to investing in cultural and sports infrastructure. These grassroots facilities have attracted a large number of residents to participate in recreational and cultural activities, physical training, and community engagement, contributing to the development of cultural life and the local socio-economic growth.
In recent years, the mass physical training and sports (PTS) movement in Hoa Binh province has developed strongly and spread widely. Regardless of age, gender or occupation, people actively participate in physical training, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic sports atmosphere within the community.
Recently, Hoa Binh’s athletes have continued to show strong performances at national-level competitions. Alongside elite athletes, several standout performers have emerged from grassroots sports movements, underlining the province’s growing sports culture.
From April 26 to 27, at the Provincial Sports Arena, the Hoa Binh Provincial Karate Federation organized the 2025 Hoa Binh Open ASUDO Karate Championship.
While modern sports like volleyball and football continue to grow in popularity, traditional folk games and ethnic sports remain a vibrant and essential part of cultural life among the Muong community in Hoa Binh province.
A total of 85 young players from across Hoa Binh province recently participated in the provincial Youth Table Tennis Tournament. Organised by the provincial Centre for Youth Activities, the event was part of activities to celebrate the 94th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – 2025) and the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – 2025).
