The Vietnamese national team beat the Democratic People's Republic of Korea 3-1 in the final match on August 11 to seal the championship title of the VTV International Women's Volleyball Cup 2018.

The Vietnamese women cruised to respective 25-14, 25-19, and
25-15 victories in the three straight sets of the match.
Earlier, the team underwent a tense
semifinal against Sichuan club from China, in which
the host claimed a 3-2 victory.
In the other game yesterday, the Sichuan club from China
overcame the Altay club from Kazakhstan
to take third place at this year's competition.
As the overall champions, Vietnam walked
away with US$10,000 in prize money, while second and third runners-ups received
US$7,000 and US$5,000, respectively.
The 2018 VTV Women’s Volleyball Cup, taking
place from August 4 to 11 in Ha Tinh province, attracted the participation of
eight teams, including six international clubs, the Vietnamese national team,
and the Vietnamese youth team.
