Vi Thi Hang contributed a bronze to Vietnam’s medal tally by finishing third in the women’s 50m freestyle S7 event, clocking a time of 39.56 seconds.

As of 4pm on October 8, Vietnam stood in eighth in the provisional table with two gold and one bronze medal. China reigned atop the standings with 20 golds, 12 more than the Republic of Korea and 15 above Japan.

Vietnam has sent a sporting contingent of 54 athletes to the INAPG 2018, targeting to win at least four gold medals. In the previous competition, Vietnam returned home with nine golds, five of which were secured by swimmer Vo Thanh Tung alone.

Tung will swim in the men’s 50m backstroke finals later today.
