Hoa Binh pockets three gold medals in mountain bike race

(HBO) – Cyclists from the northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh brought home three gold and one bronze medals in the mountain bike race of the 8th National Sports Games.

In the last competing day of the race, both male and female athletes participated in the 1.5-kilometre passing event. This is a challenging category which requires bikers to have good techniques and exact judgment to attain the best achievements.

Despite some minor incidents, Quang Thi Soan from Son La province excellently finished the race in two minutes and 43 seconds and won the gold medal. Meanwhile, the silver medal and bronze medal went to Nguyen Tuyet Phuong from An Giang province and Ca Thi Duong from Hanoi.

In the men’s event, Tong Thanh Tuyen from military delegation bagged the gold medal after completing the race in two minutes and 12 seconds. Ha The Long from Thanh Hoa and Nguyen Huu Thanh from the military delegation took the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

After three competing days, Binh Duong province got four gold and one silver medals, military delegations brought home two gold, four silver and one bronze medals, and Son La province bagged one gold, three silver and two bronze medals. The An Giang delegation took one silver and three bronze medals, Thanh Hoa one silver and Hanoi three bronze medals./.
