Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent a letter to the national football team on December 8, to encourage the Vietnamese players ahead of the two important matches in the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 final against Malaysia.

After beating the Philippines 4-2 on aggregate in the two-leg semi-finals, coach Park Hang-seo’s side won the last ticket to the final to meet Malaysia again, the team that was defeated 2-0 by Vietnam in the group stage.

The upcoming two-leg final will be not easy, but millions of home fans are heading to support the team to realise the dream of becoming the regional champions after 10 years of waiting.

In his letter, PM Phuc congratulated and praised the efforts by the Vietnam national football team, especially coach Park Hang-seo, in winning the final berth at the biggest regional football tournament for the first time in 10 years.

Along with the love and victorious belief of the nation towards the team, the government leader expressed his wish that the team would be well prepared and united to play two good games to win the championship title.

He also urged the team to keep calm and stay confident to compete for national pride.

The first leg of the AFF Cup 2018 final between hosts Malaysia and visitors Vietnam will take place at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on December 12. The return leg will take place at Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium four day later.

Around 80,000 tickets for the first leg final match were sold out in Malaysia during the last two days. Meanwhile, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has decided to sell tickets online for the Saturday return leg final match at My Dinh Stadium.

Accordingly, the VFF will open its online counter at vebongdaonline.vn and vebongonline.com.vn, starting at 10 am on December 10, until 10 am the following day. There will be three sessions for ticket sales on Monday, starting from 10 am, 4 pm and 10 pm, respectively, plus a final session starting from 10 am on December 11. As soon as the tickets are sold out, there will be an announcement in detail for each session.

Tickets are sold with four prices, at VND200,000, VND350,000, VND500,000 and the highest VND600,000. Each person can only buy a maximum of two tickets at the same price with their ID cards or citizen identification cards.

Tickets will be delivered to buyers via the VNPost postal service after successful booking and payment, or can be collected at VFF’s headquarters in Hanoi’s Le Quang Dao street, Phu Do ward, Nam Tu Liem district, from 9 am to 4:30 pm on December 13 and 14.
