Ms. Dinh Thi Bich Dam, the deputy head of Ky Son’s Department of Culture
and Information says that currently volleyball has been developed evenly in
villages, hamlets and residential areas with 100% of villages and hamlets
having men's, women's and the stream volleyball teams. Each team has built up
their own rules and regulations. Every year, the district organizes
championship volleyball tournaments, women's volleyball and stream volleyball
tournaments and so on to strongly promote the volleyball movement. Additionaly,
the residential areas regularly organize sports exchanges with each other and
with other agencies under in the area to improve their ability and strengthen
the solidarity. As a result, the volleyball and stream volleyball have
developed extensively, typically some communes have strong development
movements such as Phuc Tien, Hop Thanh, Phu Minh, Ky Son town and so on. It can
be said that volleyball is not yet is the district's strong sport but it is a
sport attracting a lot of people.
Phuc Tien has been evaluated to have a strong volleyball with a lot of good
athletes. Currently, each village has from two to three men's, women's and
stream volleyball teams. The teams
regularly practice and hold the friendly competitions to train physical health,
get experiences and improve techniques for themselves. At the volleyball tournaments
organized by the district, Phuc Tien commune’s volleyball team is always in the
top. This commune also has two athletes who have been selected for the district
volleyball team to participate in the provincial volleyball tournaments. Every
year, on the occations of holidays, Tet holidays and other anniversaries, and
Phuc Tien commune organizes exciting sports and cultural activities, in which
volleyball stadiums always attract many people to watch and cheer. Thereby it
helps creat a joyful atmosphere and solidarity between people. Thanks to the
strong development of volleyball, the physical training movement following the
great example of Uncle Ho has been increasingly promoted. The number of people
participating in the commune's physical training and sports has reached nearly
40% of the population so far.
