Mai Chau district hosts tug-of-war, stick pushing competitions 2019

HBO – Mai Chau district in Hoa Binh province has organised tug-of-war and stick pushing competitions for this year with the participation of 186 athletes from 17 communes and towns.

Athletes participate in the stick pushing category for women.

This is an opportunity for athletes to show their skills and competition spirit as well as learn experience from each other. The competitions aim to select the best athletes for training to join other big events hosted by the province. Such activities are practical in response to the movement of exercising launched by President Ho Chi Minh.

After two days of competition, the organising board granted awards to the best athletes.

On February 23, the Hoa Binh Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with the General Department of Sports and Physical Training’s karate division and the provincial Karate federation, organised the 2025 national karate dan promotion exam at the provincial sports arena. The exam covered the first (Shodan), second (Nidan), and third (Sandan) dan levels, with no fourth (Yondan) or fifth (Godan) dan tests this year.
