HBO – The 60th national cross-country run and marathon tournament of Tien Phong newspaper in 2019 was recently held in Vung Tau city of southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

The event drew over 2,000 athletes at home and
abroad, including 200 professional runners of 30 domestic delegations. The
participants vied for medals in 92 team and individual categories (26 prizes
for professional individuals, 50 prizes for amateur teams, and 16 prizes for professional
teams).
Athletes from
Hoa Binh province competed in different events and two brought home gold
medals. They are Dinh Thanh Hue, a high-school teacher from Da Bac district,
champion of the cross-country marathon tournament of Hoa Binh newspaper 2018, and
Ban Thanh Tuyen, an athlete from the provincial team. Hue won the 21km run for men’s
aged 30-39, while Tuyen came first in the 10km event for men’s amateur runners with
an achievement of 35 minutes and 40 seconds.
This is the fourth time Hue has brought home the gold medal in the prestigious
event hosted by Tien Phong newspaper (twice in the 5km event and once in 10km
event for amateur runners). At this year’s tournament, Hue only ranked after
four professional athletes in the 21km run for both amateur and professional
athletes.
With two gold
medals, the Hoa Binh delegation has shown their best performance in the
tournament so far.

In 2 days, March 1-2, 2025, at the Provincial Gymnasium, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism organized the 2025 Provincial Youth Championship of Crossbow Shooting, Tug-of-War, and Stich Pushing. This annual event is hosted by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
On February 23, the Hoa Binh Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with the General Department of Sports and Physical Training’s karate division and the provincial Karate federation, organised the 2025 national karate dan promotion exam at the provincial sports arena. The exam covered the first (Shodan), second (Nidan), and third (Sandan) dan levels, with no fourth (Yondan) or fifth (Godan) dan tests this year.
In the early days of the Year of the Snake, Hoa Binh province is filled with a lively and joyful atmosphere as various sports exchange and competition activities take place. These events have become a cherished tradition among local ethnic communities, strengthening their solidarity and fostering their close bonds. They contribute to the robust development of grassroots sports movements, enhancing the cultural and spiritual life of the people.
The Hoa Binh provincial Health sector trade union organized the 1st expanded Hoa Binh provincial Health sector Pickleball tournament in 2025.
At the Hoa Binh provincial sports arena, the Organizing Committee of the 8th Hoa Binh City Sports Festival 2025 held youth and championship crossbow shooting, tug of war, and stick pushing tournaments.
