(HBO) - Implementing the campaign "All people train their bodies to follow the example of great Uncle Ho", the movement of mass spots in Van Son commune (Lac Son) has been developing in the past years. Every year besides organizing sports tournaments such as volleyball, football, athletics and so on, the commune has been paying great attention to maintaining and preserving the national sports such as stick pushing and array hitting.

The people in Van Son commune (Lac Son) are competing in the array competition at Khenh Temple Festival in 2019.
After merging, there are 10 hamlets with 4,600 inhabitants in Van Son commune. In 2019, the number of people practicing sports regularly of the commune is over 1,000 people. This rate has been gradually increasing over the years with 450 families playing sports. Currently, there are 10 soft volleyball teams of the Elderly Association and 20 male and female hard volleyball teams of the villages in Van Son commune. Volleyball is a popular sport among the people. Besides, there are football, badminton and national sports such as array hitting, stick pushing. Doing exercises and playing sports have become an indispensable activity in daily life of the people in the commune.

In 2019, the commune organized a lot of sports activities such as Olympic running day with the participation of nearly 400 people of all strata, volleyball competition, crossbow shooting, array hitting, throwing cotton ball game and so on to develop the movement of mass sports and encourage people to participate.

Every year, the commune organizes sports tournaments in association with the holidays, Tet, and the national anniversaries. The sports tournaments have been attracting a large number of people to participate, contributing to the health improvement, creating a playground for exchanges and strengthening the solidarity between the people within the commune. Many young athletes at the age of 15 - 20 of volleyball have appeared through the tournaments. Thereby, they can select the sports nucleus for fostering and competing in the sports tournaments such as athletics at the district and provincial levels. Ms. Bui Thi Nham (Trao village) has competed in athletics, Mr. Bui Van Vinh (Man village) has competed in male stick pushing.

In addition, the commune is paying a special attention to investing in facilities, the cultural and sports institutions. However, it can partly meet the people's needs of physical training and sports. Currently, there are 8 football fields and 20 volleyball courts in the whole commune. There are from 2 to 3 training grounds for the elderly and young people in each village. The main playing fields are spontaneous grass courts without lighting system.
