Before Covid-19 epidemics, the Volleyball Club in Gia Mo
commune (Tan Lac) attracted members of all ages to practice sports regularly.
Over the past 5 years, volleyball has developed quite extensively and frantically because of its suitability for all sectors and ages, having collective meaning and high solidarity. Volleyball is also the most favorite sport for a large number of people from the remote areas such as Lo Son, Gia Mo, Nhan My, Van Son, Ngo Luong and the lowland communes such as Phong Phu, Tu Ne and Thanh Hoi. Volleyball clubs have been established in these communes. They have been maintaining a fund for the activities and regular training in every morning and evening. Some sports of the ethnic people such as stick pushing, crossbow shooting, tug of war have also been promoted by many communes, encouraging practice and gathering the members who love the sport at clubs.
In order to promote the movement of sports practice to improve health, and encourage the development of the sports clubs at the same time, the district has strengthened the organization of the sports tournaments at the district and grassroots levels, promoting the socialization of the sports movement. They have collaborated with other branches, associations and unions such as Education & Training, the Labor Union, the Elderly Union, the Farmers’ Union, the Women’s Union, the Youth Union, other Sports Clubs to organize tournaments. Every year in the regions and emulation clusters, the communes regularly organize sports exchanges and competitions, typically the cluster of highland communes, Thach Bi region, and the cluster of communes along the national highway 12B.
The Hoa Binh provincial Health sector trade union organized the 1st expanded Hoa Binh provincial Health sector Pickleball tournament in 2025.
At the Hoa Binh provincial sports arena, the Organizing Committee of the 8th Hoa Binh City Sports Festival 2025 held youth and championship crossbow shooting, tug of war, and stick pushing tournaments.
