(HBO) – Luong Son district has successfully organised the 24th traditional fell-running tournament, the fifth sport within the framework of the district’s 13th sport festival.




Athletes race in the official and junior men’s 5km categories

The tournament attracted nearly 180 runners, including 73 females and 105 males, of 24 teams from communes, towns and high schools across Luong Son distict. They competed in the four categories of official and junior men’s 5km and official and junior women’s 3km.

The organising board presented four first-place prizes, four second-place prizes, four third-place prizes and 12 consolation prizes. The first-place prizes went to Dinh Thi Nga from Hop Hoa commune (junior women’s category), Hoang Minh Bao from Hop Hoa commune (junior men’s category), Bui Bich Ha from Thanh Lap commune (official women’s category), and Pham Ngoc Dien from Thanh Lap commune (official men’s category).

Hop Hoa, Cu Yen and Hoa Son communes respectively won the first-, second- and third-place prizes in the junior women’s team event. In the junior men’s team event, the top three places were also respectively obtained by these communes.

In the official women’s team event, the Nguyen Trai High School pocketed the first prize, Cu Yen commune finished at the second place and Luong Son town was in the third position. The Nguyen Trai High Schoolalso topped the official men’s team event, followed by the Luong Son High School and Cu Yen commune.


The organising board presents prizes to the top three communes in the standings.

The organising board also granted awards to the youngest racers, Hoang Thanh Son (Luong Son town) and Nguyen Khanh Huyen (Cu Yen commune), and to the best coach – Doan Thi Luong (Cu Yen commune).

Through this tourney, organizers selected the best athletes to provide them with intensive training to prepare for the 26th traditional fell-running tournament – Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup, slated for late October./.
