(HBO) - The movement of mass sports and physical training has strongly developed with many diverse forms, expanding to most subjects and areas, attracting a large number of people to participate. In 2011, the number of people regularly practicing gymnastics was 25% of the population, the number of sports households reached 17%, and there were 505 clubs at the grassroots levels that maintain regular activities.

By 2019, the number of people who regularly practice physical training will reach 32.2% of the population, the number of sports households reaches 24.5%, there are 805 clubs that maintain regular activities. Of which there were 270 volleyball clubs, 165 badminton clubs, 27 tennis clubs and bicycle, golf, chess, chess and soccer clubs ...The socialization of sport has been strengthened. The mobilization of social resources to invest in building sports facilities has been promoting the movement of sport in both quantity and quality. In the province there have been 2 federations established. They are the provincial Tennis Federation established in 2007 and Kartedo Federation established in 2017. Every year, the socialized sports tournaments are successfully launched.

Every year, the province launches and well organizes the sports movements among the cadres, the civil servants, the public employees and the workers.

In recent years, the movement of sports and physical training among the elderly people, the people with disabilities and children in special circumstances has gradually been developing. The sports associations and clubs have been established, and sports tournaments for retirees, the elderly and the disabled people have regularly been held. The most widespread sports is the nurturing, chess, badminton, table tennis, steam volleyball….

Creating conditions to promote mass sports movement, the province has been paying attention to investing in sports infrastructure. In 2013, the provincial sports gymnasium was repaired and upgraded to serve the 12th National Festival of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the Northwestern region, with a total investment of 5.6 billion VND. They have invested in repairing and upgrading the stadium and improving the Piste road in the following years: in 2012 with a total investment of 19,415 million VND, in 2016 with the total investment of 4,493 million VND, in 2018 and 2019 with the total investment off 6 billion VND.

The sport works of the districts and the city have been gradually completed, partly meeting the needs of training and organizing sports activities of the localities. Currently, in the whole province there are 13 stadiums (including 11 stadiums with stands), 44 multi-purpose sport practicing houses, 1 swimming pool with 50 meters in length, 52 swimming pools of all kinds, 230 football mini fields, 1,402 volleyball courts, 399 badminton courts, 51 tennis courts.
