The Badminton Club of Mien Doi commune (Lac Son) is practicing at the end of the weekdays.
Presenting at the headquarters of Mien Doi People's Committee, we witnessed the practice session of the members of the communal badminton club. After a long series of days off for the New Year holiday, everyone was eager to practice at the training ground. Currently, there are 10 members in the communal badminton club in participating in the daily practice, namely the cadres, the civil servants, the public employees and the people in the area. During the summer holidays or holidays, the New Year, there are more than 20 people participating in practice.
Mr. Bui Van Dau from Thay Voi village says: "Every afternoon, the club members maintain regular pratice to improve their health and satisfy their passion for the sport. Due to the complicated development of Covid-19 epidemics, the club still maintains practice, but they limit the people outside the club to participate. There are not many people participating in the process of training, and they often disinfect their hands before and after playing sports”.
In addition to badminton, the movement of mass sports in Mien Doi commune is also exciting with hard volleyball and soft volleyball. The sports of the ethnic people such as crossbow shooting, tug of war, pushing sticks are also maintained... At the end of the afternoon on weekdays, the people gather on the playground of the cultural house and the central stadium to play sports after the stressful working hours.
In order to promote the development of the movement of mass sports, the commune has directed the appropriate authorities and unions to intensify propaganda and mobilize the people to actively practice physical exercises. Every year, they organize 2-3 tournaments, creating a useful playground to attract the people. They regularly connect and exchange sports with the neighboring communes such as Van Son, Ngoc My (Tan Lac), Thach Yen (Cao Phong) to rub and improve their professional qualifications. Thereby, it helps both physical training and it is the basis for the commune to select and foster the typical athletes to participate in competitions at the tournaments organized by the district and the province. On average, the commune provides from 3-4 athletes to join the district’s sports teams every year. Typically, it is Ms. Bui Thi Chung (stick pushing), Ms. Bui Thi Duong (crossbow shooting), Ms. Bui Thi Hop (athlete) from Bai village ...
Mr. Bui Van Thuong, the Vice Chairman of Mien Doi People's Committee says: "The current difficulty to develop the movement of mass sports is that the majority of young people work far away, and it is difficult to gather and practice before the tournaments. The hardened yard system is only about 60%. In the coming time, the party committee and commune authority would like that the State will pay attention and support funding to upgrade and buy equipment for training. It is necessary to strengthen propaganda so that the people will actively practice a variety of mass sports and focus on developing the key sports. It is also important to direct the helmets to found the sports clubs so that the people can exchange sports competitions and increase solidarity. Through the cultural and sports activities, a vibrant emulation atmosphere will be created and successfully complete the tasks of local socio-economic development”.
