(HBO) - In the developing context of Covid-19 epidemics, Kim Boi district has still well been maintaining the activities of the 68 fitness and sports clubs. Over 41,300 people has been practicing sports regularly, 7,670 households have been regconized to meet the standards of the sports family… These results recognizes the persistent efforts to create a foundation for promoting sports activities in general and mass sports movements in particular in Kim Boi district.

Ms. Quach Thanh Ha, the Director of the District’s Center for Culture, Sports and Information says: With the attention and direction of the Party committees and authorities, the coordination of the appropriate authories and mass organizations and the active support of the People, the center has made great efforts to spread the movement of the whole people doing exercises following the example of great Uncle Ho, creating momentum for the sports with high achivements in rêcnt years.

Therefore, in 2020, in the months when the Covid-19 epidemic subsided, there were no positive cases in the province, the district organized 4 sports tournaments, at the distrcit’s level. They include the volleyball – badminton tournament to celebrate the Party, the spring, the table tennis - badminton tournament for all ages, the Rugby tournament, Pass It Back – the sport for development of Kim Boi district and the 5thDistrict’s Volleyball Tournament for the elderly, attracting the participation of nearly 2,000 turns of students and athletes. The district also opened a swimming talent class, a badminton talent class and a training and fostering course in physical training and sports for the cultural officials of the communes, the town, and the collaborators of the district’s Center for Culture, Sports and Information. 46 instructors for phýical training and sports have been trained to promote the sports movement from the grassroots. At the same time, they have been maintaining the training and practice for the athletes participating in 4 provincial sports tournaments including crossbow shooting - tug of war - stick pushing tournament, volleyball championship, the table tennis - young badminton marathon championship of Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup. The results are as follows: they won 3 first prizes for the whole team, 1 second prize and 1 third prize for the whole team. They also won 10 medals of all kinds (2 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 5 bronze medals). In addition, the district has selected and established a team of athletes to participate in the male volleyball tournament for farmers, the volleyball tournament for workers, officials, and employees at district’s and province’s levels. They have coordinated with the District’s Association of Former Teachers to organize the 2nd steam Volleyball Tournament. They have also coordinated with the Youth Volunteering Association of the district to organize a steam volleyball tournament to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnamese Youth Volunteers...

In order to keep making the movement of sports training and competition always exciting, the District’s Center for Culture, Sports and Information developed a plan to organize physical training and sports activities in 2021, including holding a volleyball tournament to celebrate the Party, the spring of Tan Suu; the volleyball championship, the table tennis - badminton tournaments for all ages; the crossbow shooting - tug of war - stick pushing tournament, 7- person football tournament; the athletics championship; the traditional swimming tournaments of crossing the river with different distances. The forces have been prepared to participate in the Provincial Congress of Physical Training and Sports with the following subjects: volleyball, table tennis, badminton, swimming, Karat martial arts, Vovinam, crossbow shooting - tug of war - stick pushing, 7-person football, tennis, marathon…

On the basis of the set plan, since the beginning of the year, the district has in turn deployed a friendly volleyball competition to celebrate the Party and the spring of Tan Suu on the 4thday of the lunar New Year; the district’s volleyball championship; the district’s table tennis - badminton tournament; Kim Boi Elite Cup football tournament in 2021. If Covid-19 epidemics subsided, in the second quarter of 2021, along with participating in the competitions within the framework of the Provincial and District’s Congress of Physical Training and Sports, the district would continue to open swimming talent classes at the facilities; organizing swimming tournaments of different distances and traditional river crossings; providing the professional training courses in sport and physical activities for cultural officials in the communes and the town. These efforts are aimed at creating a wider spread for the movement of the whole people doing exercises following the great example of Uncle Ho and raising the status of high-achieving sports in the district.
