The villages and hamlets in Cao Son commune (Da Bac) have been organizing volleyball exchanges and competitions.
When the development of Covid-19 epidemics has been basically under control, some people practice volleyball to improve their health and reduce stress after working hours at the playgrounds of the cultural houses. However, to ensure the requirements of the epidemic prevention and control, people ensure the distance, not to gather more than 20 people at the football field when practicing. Along the inter-village and hamlet roads, many teams and groups take advantage of the vacant land and flat fields to put stakes and nets to play volleyball. Mr. Dinh Van Nam from Son Lap hamlet says: "Volleyball is a sport attracting a large number of people of all ages to participate in the daily practice. Every afternoon, at around 5 pm, people flock to the playgrounds at the cultural houses to have fun, exercise, practice together, improve their skills to participate in the competitions organized by the commune and the district. However, due to the complicated development of Covid-19 epidemics, the People in the area have strictly abided by the suspension of playing it and limit the gathering.”
Mr. Pham Tien Luc from Seo village says: "Not only young people and women like playing volleyball, I'm almost 70 years old, but I'm still very eager to practice volleyball. No one told anyone, every half past four every afternoon, the middle-aged elderly people go out to the playground to exercise, and to meet and chat for comfort at the same time.”
The movement of practicing volleyball has been established for a long time, creating the habits and the routines in the late afternoons of the day. Depending on the interest, the age and the condition of the health, each person chooses to practice hard volleyball or soft volleyball. Currently, 9 out of the 9 hamlets in the area have established their own volleyball teams for men, women, the elderly... Thereby, they opractice at the playgrounds at the office of the Communal People's Committee, the village cultural house and even they take advantage of the vacant land along the road…
In order to create a useful playground for the people, every year, the commune directs the appropriate branches and mass organizations to strengthen coordination, maintaining the organization of 2-3 volleyball competitions during holidays and Tet to attract the participation of the people from the helmets in the area participate. At the same time, it helps to select and foster the talents representing the commune to participate in volleyball tournaments organized by the district. According to the review, on average, the commune provides 3-4 athletes to participate in the district's volleyball teams each year.
Mr. Dinh Van Thu, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Cao Son commune says: "The movement of physical training and sports in the commune has developed strongly, creating a wide spread in the community. In the coming time, the commune will continue to propagate and mobilize the People to regularly practice sports, improving health, emulating for the production. The training and fostering the next source of athletes has been paid attention to. At the same time, they want the authorities at all levels to pay attention and provide the financial support to invest in building and upgrading the system of facilities for practice and competition. Thereby, it helps continuing to develop the strength of volleyball, providing many typical athletes to participate in the teams competing at tournaments organized by the district and the province.
