(HBO) - On March 18th, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting preparing to host the cycling event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games - 31st SEA Games. Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Head of the local Organizing Committee chaired the conference.

 Cycling is one of 40 sports organized in the 3st SEA Games with the expectation of about 400 participants. The competition contents include mountain biking taking place from May 14 to 17, 2022 and long-distance biking taking place from May 19-22 May 2022. Before that, there will be the welcoming and responding activities such as the 30th traditional marathon of Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup, scheduled to takke place on April 23rd, 2022 and the highland fair scheduled to take place from May 13th to 19th, 2022 at the Provincial Exhibition and Convention Center.

To carry out the tasks of the event hosting, the province has established the local Organizing Committee and 4 sub-committees including the technical expertise - facilities; the finance, logistics and reception; the propaganda and celebrations; the security - health and traffic. The sub-committees have already surveyed, developed, and promulgated a plan to implement the conditions of facilities, the plan to ensure security, order, safety, fire prevention, health care and sanitation, food safety and the measures to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemics. They have renovated and upgraded the urban infrastructure, propagandizing and decorating celebration….Regarding the preparation of the race track with the content of the long-distance biking, all of the routes according to the track route basically meet the technical and professional requirements. With the content of mountain biking, the track route is under construction, reaching about 90% of the work volume, and it is expected to be completed before March 30th, 2022. It is expected that the Organizing Committee of the cycling event of SEA Games 31st will organize a general inspection of the conditions for hosting the cycling event before May 10th, 2022.

Making a conclusion speech at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: the 31st SEA Games is an important event taking place in the province with the participation of many countries, having the international character. Therefore, the units and the localities assigned the tasks need to be highly concentrated in their work. At the same time, it is suggested that the sub-committees need to stick to the implementation plans, continuing to review the work in the spirit of doing it carefully without missing work, with the specific assignments that do not overlap. The technical and professional sub-committee should coordinate with the technical and professional agencies of the Central Government to soon check the route of the race tracks. It is necessary to continue urging to speed up the construction progress on the mountain track routes. The other sub-committees should agree on the specific program contents with the Central Committee to coordinate, actively grasp information, ensure the ceremony, logistics, traffic safety, security and order, food safety, environmental sanitation. Along with that, it is suggested to strengthen the activities to introduce and promote the image of the land and people, the cultural identity, and the tourism attractions of the province.

The International Yoga Day in Hoa Binh province

In the morning of June 30th, at Hoa Binh Square, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Hanoi to organize the International Yoga Day in Hoa Binh province in 2024. Recently, the martial artists from our province left a lasting impression at the 2024 Northern Vovinam Championship organized by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Nam Dinh Province in collaboration with the Sports Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) and the Vietnam Vovinam Federation. This championship has attracted the participation of over 300 athletes and coaches from 13 delegations representing various provinces and cities in the Northern region. The participants competed in 73 categories, including martial arts performances and sparring.
