Recently, the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of two communes Hang Kia and Pa Co (Mai Chau district) organized the Gau Tao festival of the Mong ethnic group in 2024. In addition to the traditional cultural values of the Gau Tao festival, other activities exchanging some folk games and sports such as: throwing pao, playing tu lu, walking on stilts, pushing sticks... are attractive highlights that make the festival atmosphere more fun and exciting.

Besides the development of many sports and modern forms of entertainment, ethnic sports still have a strong vitality in life and play an important role in festivals every Tet holiday.
Hoa Binh province has always paid attention to preserving and developing national sports. Crossbow shooting, tug of war, stick pushing tournaments are traditional sports tournaments, organized annually by the province, attracting the participation of typical cores of the national sports movement at the grassroots level.
At the Sports Congress at all levels in Hoa Binh province, national sports such as crossbow shooting, tug of war, and stick pushing are included in the competition program. In localities, people enthusiastically and actively practice sports.
There are 835 grassroots sports clubs in Hoa Binh province. In which, 64 club pushing clubs and 60 crossbow shooting clubs.
