Tan Lac district ranked first in the youth archery, tug-of-war, and stick-pushing competition 2024 hosted by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism on April 12 – 15.


The organising board awards flags to units with best performance

The competition attracted over 400 athletes from 10 districts and Hoa Binh city who competed in archery (eight individual events and mixed-gender team events), stick pushing (20 individual categories for young men and women), and tug-of-war (four team events for youth).

After 262 stick-pushing games, 36 tug-of-war ones, and over 50 rounds of archery competitions, the organising board awarded 32 sets of medals to athletes and teams that achieved outstanding results.

Tan Lac district topped the ranking with 13 gold, four silver, and one bronze medal. The runner-up was Lac Son district with six golds, seven silvers, and three bronzes. Hoa Binh city secured the third prize with four golds, four silvers, and five bronzes.

The competition has contributed to improving the quality of the movement "All people do exercisesfollowing thegreat exampleof UncleHo”, and affirming the strong development of themovement of physical trainingand sports among people, and preserving and promoting the cultural values of traditional sports in the province.

It also helped select outstanding athletes to represent Hoa Binh in national and regional sports competitions in 2024.

For stick pushing, they participated in 9 weight categories and won 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals. Notably, the two young athletes who were both born in 2006 are the children of Van Son commune (Lac Son) and have contributed a lot to the province's competition achievements.
