According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the number of visitors to Hanoi has reached 50-70% of the time before the outbreak of Covid-19 with a sharp increase of tourists from Europe.

Currently, the number of asian visitors to hanoi accounts for 65%, european visitors account for 25%. many travel related companies have devised policies to find ways to expand the market, and actively welcome visitors from europe, the us, australia to hanoi and vice versa.

Director of the hanoi department of tourism tran duc hai said that the city has implemented synchronous measures to cope with covid -19, restructure the market, as well as continue to improve the quality of services and promote the promotion.

Over the past time, although the number of chinese tourists has decreased sharply, other markets increased steadily such as japan (200%), india (65%), he said, adding the number of european tourists also remarkably increased.

General director of the vietnam national administration of tourism nguyen trung khanh has recently sent a letter to international partners of the tourism industry to inform on vietnam's efforts in response to covid -19 and affirmed that tourist destinations in vietnam remain open.

The tourism sector will maintain acting responsibible for the whole of society and place a high priority on visitors and their safety, he added.
