In recent years, women's unions at all levels in Hoa Binh province have made great efforts to prevent domestic violence and protect women and children through numerous activities, towards building prosperous, equitable, progressive, and happy families. Practical programmes, projects, and models have significantly contributed to implementing targets set by Women's Union congresses at all levels.
Members of the "community media team" club, and the "trusted
address" model in Van Nghia commune (Lac Son district) share experiences
in promoting gender equality and solving urgent problems for women and
children.
According to Hoang Thi Duyen, chairwoman of the
provincial Women's Union, in 2024, the union has continued implementing
activities of Project 279 on promoting the good value of family relationships
and supporting the building of happy and sustainable families; maintaining the
operation of a marriage and family counseling team to support women in family
work.
The counseling team has provided support for
domestic violence victims and pre-marital consultations; and popularised
knowledge about the Law on Marriage and Family, the prevention of child abuse,
raising of children and the building of a happy and sustainable family on the
website of the provincial Women's Union.
The union has coordinated with relevant agencies
to detect and support women and children who are victims of domestic violence
and child abuse. Victims’ families are connected to support centres for legal
aid, medical services and psychological counseling to promptly resolve
emergency situations.
Women's unions at all levels have organised 38
competitions, 28 thematic seminars, 55 training courses, focusing on educating
ethics, lifestyle and behavioral skills in the family, helping members build a
sustainable and healthy family environment.
The organisation has coordinated with
departments and sectors to organise thematic talks on the occasion of the
Vietnamese Family Day (June 28) and the national action month against domestic
violence, attracting the participation of 250 delegates and thousands of
members.
In 2024, the union supported 903 women with
disabilities through training, loan support, and job referrals. Training
courses were held for 60 women and families with disabled people, helping them
access legal knowledge and support policies.
The models "Family meals - warm love"
and "Raising healthy children, teaching good children" have
contributed to spreading the responsibility and love in the community.
All chapters of the provincial Women's Union are
striving to give 80% of women and girls who are victims of domestic violence
and human trafficking access to at least one social assistance service, Duyen
said.
In the coming time, effective models will be
expanded, while communication campaigns will be enhanced, towards building
prosperous, equal, progressive, and happy families in the province, she went

Da Bac is the most disadvantaged mountainous district in Hoa Binh province, with ethnic minorities accounting for about 90% of its population. Over the past years, the district has mobilised resources to implement ethnic policies to improve the quality of life of local people.
In recent years, Hoa Binh province has consistently prioritised the protection, care, and education of children, particularly those from ethnic minorities and disadvantaged backgrounds, by creating a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for their all-round development.
The Steering Committee for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control of Hoa Binh province, in coordination with the Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control Fund, held a ceremony on May 28 in response to the World No Tobacco Day (May 31) and the National No Tobacco Week (from May 25 to 31). The event was chaired by Nguyen Van Toan, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the Steering Committee.
Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.
In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
