Kim Boi district, a revolutionary land rich in cultural heritage, is "awakening” with major opportunities to become a tourism and eco-urban hub in Hoa Binh province and the region as a whole.

Due attention has been given to transport infrastructure development in Kim Boi district, facilitating travel and trade.

The district's transport infrastructure has received significant investment, facilitating travel, trade connections, and socio-economic development. A major regional road project connecting Hoa Binh - Hanoi and Son La expressway (Hoa Binh - Moc Chau), with a total investment of over 4 trillion VND (157.5 million USD), is currently under construction. The project spans 16.3 kilometers through Kim Boi district, with over 10 kilometers of land already cleared for developers.

Muong Dong - Kim Boi boasts favourable conditions for development, including picturesque landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and mineral water resources dubbed as "white gold” that have captured foreign investors’ attention.

According to the provincial master plan, Kim Boi district is designated as a focal point for high-quality eco-tourism and resort development. Over the recent past, the province has prioritised resources to back Kim Boi to capitalise on its potential and advantages. Several investors are considering strategic projects, comprising a 6.6 trillion VND eco-urban complex featuring premium entertainment facilities and a cable car system in Kim Boi and Cuoi Ha communes, spanning approximately 189 hectares.

Throughout 2024, the district focused on implementing key and breakthrough solutions to shape up local development space as well as turn itself to a tourism and service centre.

Kim Boi has seen remarkable economic growth, with a 14.7% growth rate and average per capita income reaching 50 million VND annually. The household poverty rate has decreased by over 5% annually, currently standing at 12.28%. The economic structure continues to shift positively, with services accounting for 55.2% of the economy while agriculture - forestry and small-scaled industry - construction each representing 22.4%.

Besides, local agricultural production has evolved toward sustainability and high quality, with 17 products receiving "One Commune, One Product" (OCOP) certification, including Son Thuy longan, Hop Tien honey, Kim Boi natural mineral water, and Muong Dong pomelo. The district has also made significant strides in environmental protection and sociocultural progress.

The local Party committee and administration are working to improve leadership and management efficiency while accelerating administrative reforms and providing support for capable investors to carry out projects in tourism, service, agriculture, and eco-urban development. The efforts aim to ensure comprehensive development across all sectors so that residents could fully benefit from the ongoing "Doi moi" (renewal) process.
