The National Science and Engineering Fair for secondary and high school students was held at Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City from March 19-21 by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The competition attracted 401 students, including 358 from high schools and 43 from secondary schools from 62 out of 63 provinces and centrally-run cities and 12 institutions such as universities, research institutes, and directly affiliated schools. A total of 212 projects were presented, including 23 individual and 189 team projects, covering various scientific fields.

Hoa Binh province sent three projects by students of Hoang Van Thu High School for Gifted Students, Cong Nghiep High School, and Luong Son High School, competing in the fields of biomedical and health science, system software, and embedded system.

The delegation achieved a third prize by Dau Thanh and Nguyen Khoa Tung of Luong Son High School, for their "IoT Helmet" project in the embedded system category. Nguyen Gia Bao and Nguyen Huy Tuan of the Hoang Van Thu High School for Gifted Students won a fourth prize for their research on a 3D nano biocellulose network infused with black turmeric extract for oral cancer treatment support.

Besides, Le Trong Bach and Do Ngoc Khanh from the Cong Nghiep High School brought home a promising award for their AI-integrated multifunctional clinic website in the system software category.

The competition aimed to foster scientific research in secondary education, encouraging students to innovate and apply knowledge to real-world problems. It also promotes modern teaching methods and nurtures young scientific talents.

The model of efficient energy lighting - Spreading the light of education

Progress in ethnic minority education

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
