The Hoa Binh College of Technical Technology, in collaboration with the Hoa Binh Technical and Economic College and the provincial Association of Literature and Arts, hosted a gathering on April 15 to celebrate Laos’ traditional Bunpimay (New Year) Festival 2025 and debut the new book "Nguoi Muong o ban Don” (Muong people in Don village).

Representatives from provincial departments and units present meaningful gifts to Lao students during the Bunpimay Festival.

As part of the educational cooperation programme with the Lao province of Houaphanh, both Hoa Binh colleges have been receiving and training Lao students since the 2020–2021 academic year. Currently, a total of 58 Lao students are enrolled. Beyond academic and daily support, the colleges place strong emphasis on Bunpimay celebrations each year to help students feel at home.

This year’s gathering took place in a warm and festive atmosphere, featuring traditional music and dance performances. Students were gifted with thoughtful presents and joined traditional Lao New Year rituals such as the baci (wrist-tying ceremony) and the joyful water-splashing festivities.

On this occasion, the provincial Association of Literature and Arts debuted the book "Nguoi Muong o ban Don”, a collection of essays, stories, and poems about Don village in Sam Neua town, Houaphanh province. The publication offers a heartfelt look into the lives and culture of the Muong community in Laos, highlighting deep-rooted ties and reinforcing the enduring friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
