Hoa Binh province’s Association of the Elderly recently held a conference to review the project on expanding the inter-generation self-help club model until 2025.

From 2020 to 2025, Hoa Binh established 105 new intergenerational self-help clubs, with 58 funded through dedicated project resources and 47 supported by local government budgets. To date, the province has a total of 139 clubs in 89 communes, wards, and towns, engaging over 7,200 members who are senior citizens, women, people with difficult circumstances, and local volunteers.
They have worked to raise public awareness of the elderly and the community’s healthcare needs while providing home care for seniors with disabilities. Statistics show that 124 out of the 139 clubs have implemented the full spectrum of eight core activities. Nearly 4,000 members have received loans to initiate income-generating activities, comprising 55% of all club members.
Speaking at the event, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly Central Committee Phan Van Hung and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Cong Su acknowledged and commended the Hoa Binh association’s achievements in implementing the project. They emphasised the need for enhanced communications to raise public awareness of the significance of the model, maintain and improve the clubs’ activities, and gradually increase their impact and quality.
On the occasion, six individuals were awarded the "for the cause of protecting, caring for, and promoting the role of the elderly” insignia. Meanwhile, 12 organisations and 38 individuals received commendation and rewards from central and local authorities for their outstanding achievements in implementing the project.

The Steering Committee for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control of Hoa Binh province, in coordination with the Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control Fund, held a ceremony on May 28 in response to the World No Tobacco Day (May 31) and the National No Tobacco Week (from May 25 to 31). Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.
In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
