The youth of Phu Vinh commune (Tan Lac)
protects the environment with waste bins and trays knitted by bamboo and
neohouzeaua.
Accordingly, the youth members in the
district already backfilled 9.4 km of the rural road surface, collecting 4.5
tons of waste at markets, streams; setting up 14 prohibition signs of waste
disposal, and responding to the "World Environment Day" with many
practical activities. The most highlighted point in the movement of
environmental protection is that the district Youth Union has deployed two
models of "Hàng cây thanh niên làm theo lời Bác” and "Sọt rác thanh niên xây dựng NTM”. With the enthusiasm and
willingness of the local people and the youth members to participate in the
community, currently, the whole district has grown over 700 trees and installed
more than 100 waste baskets.
Visiting Phu Vinh commune, the pictures of
waste baskets knitted by bamboo and neohouzeaua become a living proof of the
effort of the Youth members to clean the village streets and alleys. Originated
from limited funding, the Youth members in the district belonged to 135 area
show their "wisdom" when thinking of using bamboo for knitting bins
and baskets to collect waste on the route. In which, Ngau is one of the first
village to exploit this model. It is located as a central hamlet with the large
area with more than 100 households. "Being the center village with
schools, the amount of waste every day is quite much. Meanwhile, the local
people in the village only clean out 2-3 times a year, so the village road is
not in clean and clear condition. Three months ago, the Youth Union deployed
the model of installing waste baskets, which has brought practical effect. The
local people self-consciously put garbage into the baskets, the village roads
are kept clean and beautiful, the awareness of environmental protection has
been raised, "said Mr. Dinh Cong Hoang, the head of Ngau village.
In order to have waste baskets placed on the
current roads, the youth members of Phu Vinh Commune were instructed to knit
the baskets by the seniors in the commune. "The life span of a bamboo
basket is about 3 months old; therefore, we have recently replaced some
baskets. At the end of the month, the youth members will collect garbage at the
baskets for burning.
