(HBO) – The veteran Bui Van Manh in Bum 2 village, An Nghia commune (Lac Son), one of 5 members having difficult circumstances was sponsored by Veteran Association of Lac Son district to build house of gratitude.

The movement of mobilizing veteran members to
donate and support for the construction of gratitude houses has spread in the
grassroots associations, such as the Veteran Association of some communes: Tan
Lap, Ngoc Son, An Nghia, Chi Thien, etc. From 2017, the veteran members in the
district have contributed nearly 2,000 working days for repairs, re-roofing houses
of 4 members, constructing 94 hygienic toilets, supporting 112 trees of Buong,
bamboo for house construction. They also frequently visit, encourage and help
the veteran families who have especially difficult circumstances on the
holidays, Tet. Particularly, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the War
Invalids and Martyrs Day, 27 July, 2017, the grassroots Associations have given
203 gifts worth 40, 6 million VND for families of policy, the injure and sick
soldiers; donating 9 savings books for 9 veteran households and people with
merit for revolution, worth 1 million per book. On the occasion of 27 July, the
Veteran Association of the District and the grassroots Associations have
visited, encouraged and awarded 25 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND.
Besides the movement of supporting to
construct houses of gratitude, Lac Son Veteran Association always promotes the
spirit of solidarity, helping each other to get rich. In the first 6 months of
this year, the Association has been entrusted with the District Social Welfare
Bank to maintain 104 savings groups with the total debt of 81.4 billion VND. As
a result, 4,254 households were given loans to build economic models that could
provide good income. The whole district currently has 354 households trading goods,
121 small and medium farms, 10 enterprises and 2 cooperatives owned by members.
Among them, some typical enterprises and cooperatives of Duc Hien Co., Ltd (Vu
Ban), Multi-Industry Cooperative (Vu Lam), Bee Keeping Cooperative (My Thanh)
have created jobs for about 20-30 members with the income of 2-4 million VND /
month.

Da Bac is the most disadvantaged mountainous district in Hoa Binh province, with ethnic minorities accounting for about 90% of its population. Over the past years, the district has mobilised resources to implement ethnic policies to improve the quality of life of local people.

The Steering Committee for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control of Hoa Binh province, in coordination with the Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control Fund, held a ceremony on May 28 in response to the World No Tobacco Day (May 31) and the National No Tobacco Week (from May 25 to 31). The event was chaired by Nguyen Van Toan, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the Steering Committee.
Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.
In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
