(HBO) – President of Hoa Binh province’s Study Encouragement Association and Vice President of the Vietnam Study Encouragement Association Quach The Tan said that in the past two decades, the provincial association has stepped up communications on the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies on education and training.

The province now has 2,017 study encouragement chapters and 1,598 boards for education promotion with 202,157 members, accounting for 23.7 percent of the local population.

There are 91,000 learning families, more than 800 learning clans, over 1,000 learning communities, and 400 learning units in the locality.

The Study Encouragement Associations at all levels have accompanied the education and training sector in supporting education at schools with a line-up of programmes like "All people take children to school”, "Good friends”, and "Piggy bank”.

School repairs and construction have been carried out across the locality. Local people have been encouraged to plant trees, build roads and donate land for school construction. The province also pays heed to presenting gifts to excellent teachers, and offer scholarships to disadvantaged students.

The learning society building movement has drawn the participation of people from all walks of life who are studying at 210 community learning centres in communes, wards and townships. More than 200,000 people participate in training courses every year to improve their knowledge and skills.

Thanks to those useful programmes, each year, over 5,000 students, organisations and individuals who have various scientific and technological initiatives and solutions receive rewards of up to 4 billion VND./.
