(HBO) – Police of Hoa Binh province’s Yen Thuy district, in cooperation with the provincial Department of Police’s units, have successfully accomplished an investigation, arresting seven local people for gambling in the form of illegal lottery with a seized amount of 800 million VND.

The case is under further investigation. After
the case, Bui Trung Kien, Secretary of the
Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Yen Thuy district decided
to reward 10 million for the police. Meanwhile, leaders of the provincial
Department of Police also presented the force with 10 million VND for their efforts
to successfully breaking the case.
Since the beginning of 2018, Yen Thuy district’s
police have detected 27 gambling cases and arrested 87 people with gamblers, seizing
over 62 million VND, up 14 cases and 32 arrestees in comparison with the same
period in 2017. Of which five cases with 41 arrestees have been prosecuted, while
22 cases and 48 people were fined.
The district authorities have directed relevant
agencies, organizations and forces to arrange 26 communication campaigns at local
schools and residential areas to raise public awareness of laws.
It also issued three notices on the operation mode of gambling crimes, and direct
relevant agencies to organise the signing of commitment for 26 lottery selling
points to not to sell illegally lottery.
The province has also paid attention to promoting the movement "All people protecting national
security", while strengthening and expanding self-governing
models of security and order in order to improve the efficiency of the fight
against crimes and gambling./.

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
