(HBO) - From the beginning of the year until now, there have been heat waves in the province. The total monthly rainfall is less than the average of many years but it is greater than the same period last year. Significantly, since the beginning of April, there have been a number of large-scale rains with really heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. These weather patterns have shown the risk of extremely bad weather events such as thunderstorms, lightning, cyclones, hail, especially during the seasonal transition period from the second half of April to the beginning of May.

The project against flooding from the Youth Park to the canal 20 in the area of Chi Lang extended road, being invested by People's Committee of Hoa Binh City is being urgently constructed to ensure the arranged progress.

The experience from the natural disaster prevention and rescue and search work in previous years, the People's Committee of the province, the Provincial Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention & Rescue and Search Work have issued many documents to promptly and drastically respond to the unusual, complex and unpredictable developments of natural disasters, especially responding to the rain, the great floods and particularly large floods from the beginning of the year until now.

The districts and the city have urgently consolidated the Provincial Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention & Rescue and Search Work. The appropriate authorities from the province to the district levels have reviewed and listed in detail the areas where there is a risk of flash floods, pipe floods, landslides, the routes passing the underground and overflow, making plans to relocate people to safe places. At the same time, checking and reviewing the irrigation works and the dykes to promptly detect the damage for repair have taken place. The safety level of irrigation reservoir has been checked and assessed. The plans to conserve water appropriately and the limit of the water volume in the damaged and degraded reservoirs have been set up. The violations of the scope of protection of irrigation works and dikes have been handled.

The People's Committee of the province has urgently directed the implementation of the rescue and search work in the locality according to the motto "four on the spot". They include the full preparation of the forces, supplies and means of backup. The disaster prevention and control at the district’ level has been reviewed and organized with specialized forces. The commune and village levels have also organized shock teams to cope with, observe and warn the potential disasters and promptly notify the households in dangerous areas to prevent them. For areas where landslide has occurred or new relocation and resettlement areas, it is necessary to regularly check and monitor abnormal phenomena in order to actively prevent them.

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
