(HBO) – Local competent forces and residents have joined hands to reinforce dykes in Bao hamlet, Bao La commune, Mai Chau district, the northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh, contributing to ensuring safety for people during the upcoming rainy season.
Statistics
released by Mai Chau’s project management board show that in 2018, the district
had 15 facilities affected by torrential rains and floods.
To
ensure human and property safety, and minimise losses caused by the natural
disasters, all-level Party committees and authorities and localities in Mai
Chau have coordinated with road management agencies to inspect roads and dykes
vulnerable to landslides.
Apart
from reinforcing the roads and dykes, they cleared up sewerages, planted
warning boards and stepped up the information work.
They
have paid special attention to areas hit hard during last year’s flood season
like Cun Pheo, Xam Khoe, Pieng Ve and Bao La communes.
The
district has asked communes to coordinate with relevant forces and locals to supervise and reinforce routes connecting fields, dykes and canals in hamlets
and villages.
Competent
forces have promptly handled landslide-hit areas to ensure travelling of
locals. Besides, communes have provided materials and human resources for the
upgrading of facilities affected by landslides.
The
repair of key facilities has also been sped up, with a total of 14 facilities
reinforced.
