(HBO) - Responding to the theme "Safety for women and children” launched by the Central Committee of Vietnam Women's Union, in 2019, the different levels of the provincial Women's Union have implemented a lot of contents.

In particular, the levels of the provincial Women's Union have been proactively coordinated to organize many communication and education activities, raising the awareness and action on gender equality, implementing the Law on Prevention and Control of Family Violence, the Law on Children, protecting the rights, the legal and legitimate interests of women, moving towards eliminating the violence against women and children.

In 2019, all levels of the Union have effectively promoted and scaled up a lot of models of propaganda, advocacy, support and protection of children and women, integrating the implementation of the Project 938 "Propaganda, education and advocacy, supporting women to participate in solving some social issues relating to women” with the typical activities such as the provincial Women's Union has signed up a cooperated program with the Department of Education and Training on the above topic and has launched the model "Women provide safe food for boarding schools in Hoa Binh City”. 

The Union has implemented a cooperated program of 4 sectors, including the Women's Union, the Police, the Investigation and the Court in the protection of women and girls in the province in the period of 2019 - 2022. All levels have focused on the activities like the exhibition of "For a safe life”, the talks, the seminars, and launching the model "A safe village for women and children”, "The three-safe Women's Union” and so on.

The year of 2020 continues to be selected as "The Safe Year for Women and Children”, with a focus on prioritizing prevention and control of child sexual abuse. Thereby, the focus of the activities of the Provincial Women's Union is towards the grassroots levels, prioritizing measures to prevent and combat the child abuse. The Union has also signed a cooperated program with the Police, the People's Court of Investigation and the People's Court in the protection of women, children and the gender equality in the period of 2020-2022, building and improving the quality of the models to ensure safety for women, children, and to prevent violence. Especially, the Union will promote and promptly propose the cases of abuse of women and children to the appropriate authorities.

The model of efficient energy lighting - Spreading the light of education

Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.

Progress in ethnic minority education

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
