(HBO) – Hoa Binh currently houses eight industrial parks (IPs) with more than 19,400 workers, 90 percent of whom are locals. Companies in those facilities have complied well with the country’s labour laws and regulations, improving living standards and cultural life of the workers.

Hoa Binh IP workers enjoy better care.

Relevant authorities in Hoa Binh have translated the country’s labour policies into reality and cooperated to implement plans relating to improving the workers’ cultural life. Funding and land areas have been allocated for the construction of housing, kindergartens, medical facilities and cultural and sport centres for the IP workers.

Three kindergartens have been established to take care of over 580 children of the local IP workers. Five companies have financially supported workers to cover tuition fees for their kindergarten-aged children, and five others designated a room for female workers to extract and store their breast milk.

The provincial People’s Committee has earmarked 225 million VND to support a 28.6-billion-VND social housing project for IP workers in Luong Son district and granted approval for the second phase of a similar project, worth 59.5 billion VND, at the Da River Left Bank Industrial Park.

IP enterprises have basically complied well with labour laws and regulations, particularly in terms of wages and welfare benefits.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has been affecting the life of IP workers in the province, the provincial Trade Union has closely cooperated with relevant authorities to settle labour issues caused by the pandemic, abd the provincial Labour Conferderation presented 3,000 anti-bacterial masks and 200 hand sanitisers to enterprises at Luong Son IP and Da River Left Bank IP. The Labour Conferderation has also donated 30 million VND to several other companies to help them purchase masks and hand sanitisers for their workers./.
