(HBO) - On November 7th, the residential area of Ngu hamlet, Hien Luong commune (Da Bac) held a festival of the National Unity Day in 2020. Mr. Do Van Chien, the Member of the Party Central Committee, the Prime Minister, The Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority, Mr. Bui Van Khanh, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Representatives of Vietnam Fatherland Front, the leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Committee for Ethnic Minority of the province and Da Bac district attended and had fun with the local people.

 


Mr. Do Van Chien, the Minister, the Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority is presenting gifts to the people of Ngu hamlet, Hien Luong commune (Da Bac).

There are 87 households with 410 people in Ngu hamlet. They include 4 ethnic groups (Dao, Muong, Tay, Kinh) living together. Dao ethnic people account for over 80%. The local people mainly live on agriculture production, forestry, livestock and poultry raising. Being in a highland area with many difficulties, people in the hamlet always trust and well comply the policies and the laws of the Party, the State and the locality. They actively take part in developing economy, work together to build new rural areas and a strong political base. The local people have donated 2,300 square meters of land for rural roads and the construction of social welfare projects. They have also contributed their working days to concreting the villages’ roads and assigned the households to take over 2,000 m of road for the self-protection.

In 2020, the average income per capita of the hamlet is estimated at 22 million VND, increasing 4 million VND compared to that of 2019. The rate of the poverty households decreased remaining at 16.5%. The families have got the access to using hygienic water and all the children at school age have gone to school. The movement of arts and sports & physical training has been exciting, and the cultural identity has been preserved. The local people practice a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals. Through the comments, 70 households have reached the title of the cultural families, of which 7 households have reached cultural families for 3 consecutive years. The hamlet has reached the title of the cultural residential area. The face of the countryside has increasingly been flourishing, the village friendship has been tightened, and the security has been guaranteed.

By 2021, the hamlet are trying to have over 90% of households reaching the title of the cultural families, improving the quality of cultural residential areas and strengthening the block of great unity of all people.

Making a speech at the festival, the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority, Mr. Do Van Chien emphasized that our Party has always paid in the national affairs and policy. The consistent way is that all peoples are equal, respectful, unite, and help each other to develop. The brief information on the Master Plan on the socio-economic development in the areas of the ethnic minorities and the mountainous areas has been approved by the National Assembly and resolved to implement. He wishes each citizen of the hamlets and the communes promote the fine solidarity tradition of the nation. It is necessary to discuss and to think about what the hometown land can produce effectively to eradicate the poor and to get rich rightly. No matter how difficult it is, it is important to take care of the study, to preserve the cultural identity and the environmental sanitation.

At the festival, Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Committee for Ethnic Minority, the Party Committee – the People's Council – the People's Committee – the Fatherland Front and appropriate branches of the province and the district presented gifts to the helmets, the communes, the poor households and the elderly and the children from the poor households of the village. The village signed a commitment to implement the emulation movement in 2021. The People's Committee of the Commune presented certificates of merit to 7 typical families reaching the title of culture.

Progress in ethnic minority education

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
